Landmine Awareness Event - April 2012 "Lend a Leg for a Mine-Free World" - Brian hosts an event in collaboration with Mines Action Canada (MAC) to raise awareness of the devastation caused by landmines.
 

Neerlandia School Visit, Feb. 2012 Reaching out to future voters ... Brian visits Neerlandia School and spends an afternoon talking to students in Kindergarten, Gr. 3, Gr. 6 and Gr. 9.
 

Mallaig & District Senior Citizens Club, 2011 The grand opening of the Mallaig & District Senior Citizens Club was held in October. The seniors club received $25,000 in federal funding for kitchen repairs and a new roof under the New Horizons for Seniors program.
 

FSNA Event, Cold Lake, 2011 In October, Brian attended the Lakeland Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees event held in Cold Lake.
 

District 37 Lions Club Convention, 2011 The District 37 Lions Club Convention took place in October in Bonnyville. Brian was pleased to attend the event where he was able to take the opportunity to make an announcement of federal funding for the service club.
 

Edmonton Garrison - Valour Ave., 2011 Brian was honoured to be asked to participate along with other dignitaries in the unveiling of the new sign when 195 Ave. was renamed Valour Ave.
 

Portraits of Honour - Cold Lake, 2011 Brian tours the Portraits of Honour event in Cold Lake. The Portraits of Honour National Tour is centred on a 10'x35' oil-painted mural featuring the hand-painted portraits of the 157 Canadian soldiers, sailors and aircrew who lost their lives while serving in Afghanistan. The mural was painted by volunteer artist Dave Sopha.
 

Cold Lake New Horizons for Seniors Funding, 2011 Brian tours the Cold Lake seniors facility. The Cold Lake Seniors' Society received federal grant money to help renovate their kitchen.
 

Bonnyville New Horizons for Seniors Funding, 2011 Brian speaks with seniors at the Bonnyville facility. The Bonnyville Senior Citizens Society received funds to help replace areas of worn-out flooring.
 

Newbrook New Horizons for Seniors Funding, 2011 Brian helps cut the ribbon at the seniors facility in Newbrook. The Silver Horizon Drop-in Centre received funding to purchase two new furnaces and a water heater.
 

Thorhild New Horizons for Seniors Funding, 2011 Brian visits members of the Hearts of the Golden Age Society who received funding to replace the couches and television in the Thorhild seniors centre.

St. Paul Parade & BBQ Fundraiser, Sept. 2011 Brian participated in the St. Paul parade and hosted his annual fundraising BBQ at the St. Paul constituency office. BBQ proceeds went to the Kid Sport fund, an organization that provides support to children to help remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Westlock BBQ Fundraiser, August 2011 Brian hosted his 5th Annual Beef-on-a-Bun BBQ after participating in the Westlock Fair parade. The proceeds from the BBQ went to The Hope Resource Centre. The HRC, operated by the Westlock Women's Association, is an organization that assists victims of abuse.
 

Westlock EmployAbilities Funding, 2011 Brian receives a tour of the EmployAbilities centre in Westlock. EmployAbilities is a community-based charitable non-profit organization that provides employment training and services to employers and individuals with disabilities.
 

Slave Lake Fire Evacuation Centre, May 2011 Brian spent time at the Athabasca Multiplex with MLA Jeff Johnson, speaking with evacuees from the Slave Lake fire and helping to ensure that volunteers had the support they needed as relief efforts got underway.
 

Swearing-In Ceremony, 2011 Brian gets sworn in as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Westlock-St. Paul in Canada's 41st Parliament.
 

Pembina Lodge - Westlock, 2011 Brian visits the Pembina Lodge in Westlock and speaks to seniors on a variety of issues ranging from pensions to health care to agriculture.
 

Hazel Bluff Community Hall Grand Opening, Jan. 2011 Brian joined Westlock County councillors and Hazel Bluff Ag Society members to help celebrate the grand opening of the Hazel Bluff Hall.
 

Thorhild Community Pool Grand Re-Opening, 2010 The weather was perfect for the grand re-opening of the Thorhild Community Pool. Brian and Jeff Johnson, MLA for Athabasca-Redwater, enjoyed their inaugural dip in the water!
 

Hope Resource Centre Grand Opening, 2010 The Hope Resource Centre celebrated the opening of their new office space in downtown Westlock. The Hope Resource Centre provides emotional and physical support to individuals affected by family violence and abuse. The group is run by the Westlock Women's Association, a group Brian co-founded to help victims of abuse.
 

Lakeland Doctor Recruitment Board, 2010 Brian was instrumental in pulling together a group of people dedicated to recruiting more doctors for the Lakeland area. He organized and hosted a number of Lakeland Doctor Recruitment meetings. Key members of this group were doctors themselves who were able to bring their perspective to bear on the issue.
 

FASD - 10th Anniversary, 2010 Brian was pleased to be able to attend two Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder events: the Lakeland group's 2010 summer meeting and their 10th anniversary dinner.

Bonnyville RCMP Construction Funding, 2010 The new home of the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment gets underway with a sod-turning ceremony.

Remembrance Day 2009 On November 11, 2009 Brian attended Remembrance day ceremonies in Westlock, Fort Assiniboine, and Clyde.
 

Olympic Torch Relay- Cold Lake The Olympic Torch graced the City of Cold Lake on November 6, 2009. Over 5000 people attended the event, including Brian.
 

Parliamentary Tours When constituents are visiting Ottawa, they are always welcome to have a tour of Parliament Hill and Brian's Parliamentary office. Brian personally takes it upon himself to welcome his constituents and give them a personal tour and meeting!
 

Minister MacKay visits 4-Wing Cold Lake: 2009 Brian had the honour of hosting the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Defense while he was in the riding. The Minister visited 4-Wing Cold where he announced $135 million for infrastructure upgrades.
 

Minister Toews and Chairman Tweed visit Westlock - August 4 - 5, 2009 the Honourable Vic Toews President of the Treasury Board, and Merv Tweed Chairman of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities visited the constituency of Westlock - St. Paul where they accompanied Brian.
 

Annual St. Paul BBQ and Parade: 2009 Brian was pleased to take part in this year's St. Paul parade yet once again, followed by his annual St. Paul BBQ. There were laughs to be had, and great food and drinks to be served!

Brian visits Newbrook On May 21, 2008 Brian had an opportinuty to vists Newbrook and talk to the fire rescue team tackling the Newbrook forest fires.
 

First Annual Protective Services BBQ Brian along with the Town of Morinville and Sturgeon County hosted a "Protective Services BBQ" in Morinville. The BBQ was in honour of all the brave Protective Services Personnel who work hard to keep our communities and country safe.
 

May 2008 Constituency Tour From May 20 to May 23, 2008 Brian held a "BrEaST (BEST)Breakfast" in support of Breast Cancer, followed by a Passport Clinic, and an Open House. These events took place in Westlock, Redwater, Bonnyville, and Cold Lake. Take a look at some pictures!
 

May 2008 Seniors Tour From May 20 - 23, 2008 Brian visted Seniors Centres and Lodges throughout the riding of Westlock - St. Paul. Specifically he stopped by Westlock, Redwater, Bonnyville and Cold Lake. Here are pictures from a couple of his visits.
 

Passport Clinic in Westlock On February 23, 2007 Brian held his first ever Passport Clinic in Morinville. Brian is the first and only Member of Parliament to hold Passport Clinics in his riding!
 

Open House in Cold Lake Brian hosted a Open House for the Councillors of Cold Lake, local business people, and constituents who wished to either voice their views and concerns, or simply drop by for a chat.
 

Cold Lake Seniors Lodge (Summer 2007) Brian took the opportunity to stop by the Cold Lake Seniors Lodge on August 29, 2007 to visit with the residence.
 

Bonnylodge in Bonnyville (Summer, 2007) Brian visited the Bonnylodge in Bonnyville on August 30, 2007. He met with the residence and took the opportunity to answer any questions or inquiries that they had.

St. Paul Parade (September 1, 2007) Brian attended the "St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce Parade: Showdown," on Saturday, September 1, 2007.
 

St. Paul Toonie BBQ On Saturday, September 1, 2007 Brian hosted a toonie BBQ right after the St. Paul Parade. The proceeds raised went to a local charity, Kidsport.
 

Canadian Delegation to Europe: Summer 2007 This summer, Brian was chosen by the Prime Minsiter to be a part of the Canadian Delegation to Europe. There, he visited and met with delegations.
 

 

Rememberance Day 2007 Brian toured the riding on November 11, 2007 and attended the 4-Wing Cold Lake Rememberance Day Ceremony. There he paid tribute to our veterans and soldiers in the Canadian Forces.
 

United Way Fundraiser -- January 23, 2008 Brian took part in a fundraiser for United Way by showing off his hockey moves at a national tournament held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008.
What better way to represent Canadian's on ice than to play our good ol national sport!
 

Provident Place Tour with Minister Prentice Brian and Jack Dennett, Deputy Mayor of Redwater took Minister Prentice on a tour of the Provident Place on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008. Afterwards an Open House took place for constituents to come out and meet the Minister of Industry and discuss vaious issues.
 

Morinville Paintball and Training Facility Brian had the opportunity to address the crowd and present a scroll at the grand opening of Western Canada's largest indoor paintball field and training facility.
 

Cherry Grove Seniors Announcement Brian held an announcement in Cherry Grove on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 where he announced more than $129,000 of funding for seniors centres and organizations in the area.
 

Conservative vs Liberal Hockey Game 2008 The Conservatives played the Liberals in a challenging match of ice hockey. It was a competitive gaming leaving the final score tied.
 

Bonnyville Open House (Summer, 2007) Brian hosted a Open House on August 30, 2007 for the Town Councillors, and local business people and constituents of Bonnyville who wished to either voice their views and concerns, or simply drop in to say "Hello".
 

Jasper National Park's 100th Birthday On Saturday, July 21, 2007 Brian was given the honour of unveiling a commemorative postage stamp recognizing Jasper national Park's 100th birthday.

Signing of "Notes from Home" at Edmonton Garrison A special book of encouragement, support, and dedication was created by a member of the Canadian Forces to honour our soldiers over seas. The book contains signatures, messages, pictures and words of encouragement from loved ones and the community.

Cluster Bomb Awarness Reception On May 15, 2007 Brian and Mines Action Canada co-hosted a reception on Parliament Hill to educate all Parliamentarians and their staff on the dangers of cluster munitions.
